Ah, yes. Sonic's 30th anniversary is around the curve, even if it is worth mentioning that Sonic has nothing much new about sometime after Forces and Mania, then Mania Plus is physically released, mentioning why a new game was not previously announced (see the previous blog post about SEGA's decision to take time for Sonic's next adventure here). As of 2021 being the year, the leaks about Sonic Colors were getting an HD port, even though Sonic 3 & Knuckles was added for the first ever with widescreen support in this collection being leaked. Sonic's official Twitter mentions an event called Sonic Central, which was mentioned to reveal "New Titles, Project, Merchandise and more" on May 27, 2021. Take a look at what it offers below:
Alright, with this being said and seen (or if you've seen it) lets get into it.
Project Sonic 2022 aka "Sonic Rangers"?
Case you didn't watch the teaser:
It was an okay event, and they unfortunately could've added more inside for the reveal on Project Sonic 2022, which later on was Datamined in the SEGA PR page being known as "Sonic Rangers".
(Kinda odd if you ask me.) Yet, the strangest part of Sonic's new game teaser was the Blur speeding in a forest, then boosting with some technology around him, leaving this blue lines and pinkish-purple mixed trail. This has led some Sonic fans to believe it being a Colors Sequel or something of the Phantom Ruby in Forces. Yet, who knows what trail was Sonic leaving, even with that one symbol in the end? Some are trying to figure this out, and yet or more of so creating memes out of it. Hopefully, we get news on Project Sonic 2022 around E3 or Summer Games Festival, and importantly, after or during the new year. Although the leaks about it being Open World, etc is something to keep eyes peeled about this, it's best to keep it as a grain of salt for now. Sonic Colors.. Ultimate?

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is sort of not what I asked for in an HD port or remaster in my opinion, yet knowing I rather would've had Sonic Unleashed ported over instead, yet there's nothing wrong with people who want the game, cause I am glad many finally found something to enjoy while waiting for the Blue Blur's next adventure in 2022. I did enjoy the trailer for Colors: Ultimate, watching it shows ways to customize Sonic. It is a lovely nod to people who love to see something like this in a weird way, even with Movie Sonic trails or speed boost plus Tails being playable as an option is new.
Yet the game's price is set to be around $39.99USD (Standard), $44.99USD (Digital Deluxe), $53.99 CAD (Standard), $59.99CAD (Digital Deluxe) and UK is mostly around $34.99 and $39.99 for Deluxe. Physical Copies of Sonic Colors Ultimate also receive a Sonic Movie: Baby Sonic key-chain (couldn't they done like a plush or something? No offense). Digital Deluxe also provides Sonic Movie speed trail, icons, more icons to stylize your save data, early access (kind of like a 4 or 3 days early to play the game type deal), etc. Sonic Origins
I was really happy to hear this come true, and it finally being able to give Sonic 3 & Knuckles a possibility for this time of need in the light of day for new players nor new fans of Sonic in revisiting titles that kickstarted Sonic's legacy.
Although, Sonic 3 & Knuckles is looking to be a thing and yet they've forgot to put widescreen in the game when revealing the games in action. Most likely meaning this was in stages of Development or forgotten to mention that till recently from a tweet by Katie aka manager of the Sonic twitter account.
With that being said, more merchandise is on its way and can't wait to see what else they plan out knowing they revealed: KING ICE Jewerly, Toys (Robot Battle Set), Enclopyedia, Merch, and a Comic Special, Zavvi tee's, etc., and here's hoping to expect more overtime.
Yeah, this was very quick due to the event being only twelve minutes and can't wait to when Sonic Origins plus Project Sonic 2022 has to offer to bring in the time of waiting again. Until then guys on more news, GAME ON! -Timothy Stambaugh (Tim/Timthegamer12)
