During the Inside Xbox event for the Xbox Series X, they mentioned many publishers including Bungie.
Bungie has placed out recently that they are placing their current game Destiny 2 to the Xbox One and Series X, but more details will be coming soon. Check out the tweet below:
Sounds like great news to current-gen owners of Destiny 2 honestly. They are maybe able to possibly experience the 60+FPS experience on next-gen even though it seems that a third title for the series is very unknown we will have to see what's next for Destiny 2 for these years. I think Destiny 3 will likely come in the future.
Even though we do not know if this game will be backwards compatible, and how to cross-play could work out in some way for next-gen possibly. Bungie did back when Rise of Iron was coming they decided to stop supporting the PS3 and 360 versions of Destiny to the PS4, and Xbox One where it was being made for, and could they be doing the same on the current-gen. Who knows... Destiny 2 could be a way different game from we've been playing right now. Even with the new season coming around in June there were rumours upon also that Bungie could wipe an entire patrol location by the pyramid ships, and the vast improvements coming. It could even become something new for the next-gen even with it having the possibility to have faster loading times like it does on PC.. Until then..
